    Terri,
I think you are the Terri that sent me a friend request on my profile. If so, I tried to accept it, but don't know if I was successful. Computers are not my thing--apparently I am living in the dark ages. Anyhoo, if you did send a request and it turns out that I have not succeeded in accepting it, please feel free to try again. Have a great day!

Rush Limbaugh Spins Science of Oil Spills

by Terri on 04-30-2010 at 11:28 AM
Ignorant Limbaugh quote for the day: "The ocean will take care of this on its own if it was left alone and left out there. It's natural. It's as natural as the ocean water is."

I waxed at length at http://theprogressivehomeschooler.blogspot.com/ - Left alone, I suppose the ocean would "take care of this" in some fashion - personally I'd like to see it all on his own personal beach in West Palm.

Blog morph: The Progressive Homeschooler 19 February, 2010

by Terri on 02-19-2010 at 10:17 AM
Progressive Homeschoolers of Florida has matured into The Progressive Homeschooler, largely because I've decided to stand behind my own voice, rather than to try to make it representative of others. Although I hope it does continue to speak to others and I want to continue providing content that is broadly interesting to an open minded base.

I'm kicking off the new vision with a look at Global Weirding...

Enjoy!

Top Ten Evolution/Creation Stories of 2009

by Terri on 01-05-2010 at 10:18 AM
And here's a nice new year conversation starter:

From Newswise, a look at the state of science education in 2009:

Newswise - Evolution fared well in 2009. The world celebrated the 200th anniversary of Darwin's birth and the 150th of the publication of his On the Origin of Species. Thousands of events, conferences, speeches, parties, magazine stories, blog postings, and other commemorations were held in his honor. Darwin even got the Hollywood treatment, with

"I Am What I Learn" video contest 8 September, 2009

by Terri on 09-08-2009 at 10:20 AM
Presidential address freak-out by the far-out right notwithstanding, the President's speech planned for school kids today, is now online, along with information about the "I Am What I Learn" Video contest. It would be so lovely if a homeschooler pulled down a win, especially a secular one! :-)

But I can see what all the fuss was about. I mean, who needs advice like this?:

"You'll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn
