All About Reading Pre-reading teaches Print Awareness, Phonological Awareness, Letter Knowledge, Listening Comprehension, and Motivation to Read. When teaching Letter Knowledge, you'll be instructed to complete a hands-on activity to reinforce letter recognition. Shaping playdough in the form of letters is one of the suggested activities in the list included in the Teacher's Manual. For a glimpse into this program's hands-on approach, try the printable ABC Playdough Mats offered to supplement this activity!

Slipping Up is one of 12 quests, or lesson plans, that Growin'GEERS offers to challenge your homeschooler to learn about engineering. This quest is located in Switzerland and covers the concepts of weight distribution and ergonomics. Each quest includes animated videos, research and brainstorming worksheets, and a planned hands-on activity to walk your child through the quest. Growin'GEERS doesn’t supply the materials for the hands-on activity because all activities can be done with household materials.

How sad! I don't understand the need to push kids so fast and hard. Things are challenging enough without that.
