    Cool Lost in Kentucky

    Hello Everyone,

I am a homeschooling mom of a 6 yr old girl. We have home schooled from day one and love it!! We are originally from California and have lived outside of Lexington for about 6 yrs. We are having difficulties trying to belong to any groups since most are non secular. We are a very secular family and would love to get together with other home schooling families in the area that are the same way.I am so happy to find a forum like this it relieves some of the stress of feeling like I am the only one out there.

We are nowhere near your neck of the woods, but you are far from alone in your isolation. There are many of us here who have experienced it and I hope you can find someone local to connect with in time. This group is fantastic--I'm glad you found us!

    Libby,

I'm in Kentucky too, and though I'm not in Lexington, I know of a secular co-op there. I sent you the info in an email. Welcome to the site!

Thank you, we have been to the co op, we felt a little out of place at the time on top of the fact my daughter was still very shy. I am going to try and get over there again once they list their new info.
    Thanks Again!!

Even with people who are secular, I have issues connecting. Our schedules don't synch up etc., whatever. So I have decided that we are going to embark on some serious citizen science projects. We have already been at some for a while.

I figure if I cannot find the socialization that we need, then we will have to do without. It won't kill us. I hope you have better luck.

I am in Southern IN and have the same problem. I just decided to find things that I could connect with in those around me. Basically adopting a positive attitude, but it helps being from here. Not too different a background from most of the folks.

We are close if you need a road trip!!!
