    Hi Dobbie,

I'm in NM. In NM the parent or legal guardian has to operate the homeschool, however, I have always been told that it does not mean they have to be the teacher. So, basically what Alexsmom said. This is how coops or classes work - you are agreeing to have or hire someone else to teach your kiddo. If your nephew has a caseworker / formal placement with grandma, I'd double check that they are going to be good with the arrangement of you administering, that all involved parties have the same interpretation of the law (I'd also get it in writing).

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or want to get connected to other groups in the ABQ area.

Thanks everyone for the advice and info. We received similar advice from the CM group we visited. His grandmother will be filing for homeschool, and I am to be the tutor. Now on to the fun part-choosing curriculum!
