Default New Site for Homeschooling High School

New Site for Homeschooling High School
The admins of SecularHomeschool.com have recently created a new dedicated website for those homeschooling through the high school years. If this is the stage you are in, we hope you will drop by and check us out. Keep in mind before you head over, though, that the site is INCLUSIVE, not secular, which means there will be faith-based resources and users populating the site as well as secular ones. We hope to see you at LetsHomeschoolHighschool.com!

Concerned about bad info I've found over at the new "LetsHomeschoolHighschool" site.

This statement describing College Admissions Policies for Homeschoolers is gross misinformation:

    "State Colleges

State colleges require more detailed transcripts from homeschoolers. They prefer that the transcripts include a list of the courses, descriptions of each course, list of textbooks and teacher materials used to teach the courses, and how the student was evaluated and assigned a grade. SAT and ACT scores are not required by state colleges, but they could help demonstrate that your high school student is knowledgeable in important subjects like English and mathematics."

This is absolutely incorrect. The graphic next to this statement is a Michigan State University seal. Having applied to MSU, I can assure you that they do require ACT/SAT scores (including the writing section) from homeschoolers (and everyone else). In fact, most State Colleges require ACT/SAT scores from homeschoolers. Many require SAT subject tests, just like elite publics.

I just joined the new site. I wonder if there could be a secular corner for some of us? :-)

I spent a little time on the new site tonight. I wish you'd have your webmaster reconsider a design bug. The page moves up and down as I read because of the ads, and even the things I'm reading move around. I really don't think I could use a site that quirky for very long.

I am now reading the site and I am not seeing any of the bugs that Konni says she is seeing. Of course I also do not see any ads because I use the uBlock Origin extension for Chrome, but I turned it off to check and I see nothing moving around.

I am finding some helpful info on the site; between this site and Donna Young's page on Homeschooling High School I am learning everything I need.
