    Default 4-H in Illinois?

Anyone in Illinois try 4-H for a younger kid (mine's 6)? It looks awesome but it seems more geared toward older kids. There is a younger kids group and I'm just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it. Thanks!

Are you talking about the Cloverbuds? That is for kids 5-8. We didn't join, but I did check it out. The only reason that we didn't do it, is my child does not like any organized projects.

From what I understand is Cloverbuds just learn new things. Unlike the older 4-H, the children don't compete or do specific projects. To me, Cloverbuds looks more like scouts.

Yeah that's what I meant. My husband is concerned about social time for our daughter and our HSing group is cool but our schedules just don't match.

I think 4H will all depend on who your leader or person in charge is. Ours last year was crazy- she was fired if that tells you anything I am hoping they hire someone with common sense, and have hope that it will become a good place for my HSed kids to have fun. Our chapter is mostly homeschoolers, 4H is secular (although the nut that ran it was constantly talking religion and saying prayers, ect.), and it's for all ages of kids. I like that all of mine can participate if they want to.
    Mom to 5 great kids~
