We have a notebook where we all write new dishes that we read about. My daughter is reading Farmer Boy eight now, and is getting a lot of new ones. Then we find out how to make them, and about once a week try one. If it's good it gets added to a cookbook the kids are making. The favorite so far is fried apples-n-onions.

Farmer Boy is such a great food book! We made butter and buttermilk biscuits when we read Little House in the Big Woods.
