  1. Blog morph: The Progressive Homeschooler 19 February, 2010

    Progressive Homeschoolers of Florida has matured into The Progressive Homeschooler, largely because I've decided to stand behind my own voice, rather than to try to make it representative of others. Although I hope it does continue to speak to others and I want to continue providing content that is broadly interesting to an open minded base.

    I'm kicking off the new vision with a look at Global Weirding...

  4. Intro and my writing around the web

    Greetings all,

    I have 3 unschooling daughters. We live near Seattle. I write the Seattle Homeschooling for Beginners column at Examiner.com as well as the National Unschooling column. I also write for Suite101 and Helium and keep a blog, Unschooling Lifestyle.

    My daughters presently love science, dancing, prehistoric life, marine science, art, and a lot more. They do JumpStart and play other games on the computer. Unlike a lot of unschoolers, so I hear, my kids love ...

  5. Why I joined this site

    I am still debating the homeschool option with myself; my daughter is currently enrolled in a public school in second grade. We are still not sure about if we want to homeschool and if we choose to do it, HOW we will do it (ie. curriculum). However, IF I do it, one thing is for sure. I will be seeking other free-thinking, critical, rational, like-minded parents, because I am deeply concerned that it will be difficult to find play groups in our area that aren't religious in some way.
