I have been envious of the creative names people have for their homeschools, especially Lagniappe Academy which I think is brilliant on many levels.

Taking inspiration from that, I have named our homeschool Bon Secour Academy.

We live in the town of Bon Secour, on the Bon Secour River, which flows into Bon Secour Bay. So, my first reason for choosing it is location.

I have decided to start a more structured preschool in my home starting in January, and am overwhelmed by the choices in curriculum and methods!



How does everyone choose?

Well, I find I need a place to talk about this without boring the crap out of friends and family. My son is almost 4, and I have been researching homeschooling since he was an infant.



Hubby has acted Devil's Advocate-as always-and is finally coming around to my way of thinking-as always (yes, my doggedness always pays off, even if it takes a long time).
